LCCD Mobilizes relief for Typhoon Kristine Victims

Under the leadership of President/Principal Sr. Angelita J. Sagun, OSA, this relief operation was made possible by generous offerings from Consolites during the 9-day novena for Saints Augustine and Monica, as well as contributions from San Vicente Parochial School, the Campus Ministry, the Mother Rita Barcelo Outreach Center (MRBOC), the Supreme Student Council (SSC), the Student Coordinating Body (SCB), the Boy Scouts, and the Family Council.

Volunteers, including faculty, staff, and members of the SSC and SCB, worked together to repack essential goods such as rice, canned goods, instant noodles, and coffee. Relief packages were promptly distributed to the most affected areas, including Mambalite, Barangay Cobangbang, and Barangay Magang, ensuring that the aid reached those in dire need.

The relief operation was spearheaded by Ms. Gabrielle Ann Reyes, President of the Supreme Student Council, who played a critical role in organizing the initiative. In addition to these efforts, the College Department contributed 260 pieces of Mamon cakes from Goldilocks, and the Tanchuling Family generously provided discounted sacks of rice, significantly bolstering the aid packages.

LCCD’s relief team has been praised for their timely response, ensuring that storm victims received immediate assistance. Notably, LCCD opened its doors to evacuees on Tuesday, October 22, providing a safe refuge for those displaced by the storm. The following morning, on October 23, President/Principal Sr. Angelita J. Sagun, OSA, led a feeding program for those affected.

As LCCD continues to extend its hand to those affected by Tropical Storm Kristine, the school remains a beacon of hope and solidarity, showing that in times of crisis, collective effort can make a lasting difference in rebuilding lives.
